Formats

Group your clips by format, see which ones clear the views floor, and move the queue to what works.

Tell Foundry a clip's format

A format is the kind of video: a reaction, a verdict, a hot take. Name the file for it, or say it in videos.json.

  • File name: two digits, the format in lowercase letters and numbers, then the shape (9x16, 4x5, 1x1 or 16x9). 41_whowon_9x16.mov is format 41_whowon; 41_Who_Won_9x16.mov is not read.
  • Or add "clip_format": "hottake" to the clip's line in videos.json. This wins over the file name.
  • A clip with neither still posts. It just counts under no format.

The Formats card

Your dashboard shows each format's median views over the last 7 days against a floor of 300 views. A post counts once it is 24 hours old, and a format needs 5 counted posts before it is called over or under the floor.

Swap format

When a format sits under the floor, press Swap format on the card and pick the format that is working. For one week the slots of the under floor formats go to that one. The order runs 7 days, and Stop swap on the same card ends it early.
